Charges
The charges against Ms. Carol Alderson were:
Charge 1
Failing to act within your competence contrary to Principle 9 of the CILEx Code of Conduct 2010.
The particulars to charge one were that on or after 18 September 2012, Carol Alderson an Affiliate member of CILEx held herself out as a Chartered Legal Executive and/or Fellow of CILEx when she was not.
Charge 2
Failing to maintain high standards of professional and personal conduct and/or behave with honesty and integrity contrary to Principle 2 and 3 of the CILEx Code of Conduct 2010.
The particulars to charge two were that on or before 22 December 2014, Carol Alderson, an affiliate member of CILEx, used a false Practising Certificate, when not entitled to do so.
Outcome
The charges were found proved.
Sanction
The Disciplinary Tribunal ordered that Ms. Alderson be excluded from membership of CILEx for a period of five years at which point Ms. Alderson may apply for reinstatement; which will be considered in the same way as any other reinstatement application.
