Outcome 1.4: Undertake legal research

WBL Competency 1: Practical Application of the Law and Legal Practice

To meet this Outcome you will need to show that you can undertake research into the law (e.g. statute, case law) and apply your findings from that research to a matter you are dealing with.

In your logbook sheets you should identify a situation in which you needed to undertake legal research, briefly explain the law you researched, the sources you used and how you applied your findings from that research to the matter you were dealing with.

You should attach supporting evidence of both the research you carried out and having applied the research to the matter you were dealing with (e.g. a letter to third party or attendance note of verbal advice provided to client).
